About Kamaili Millwork
Our Story
Founded to address the problems caused by invasive albizia trees and the high cost of imported lumber, Kamaili Woodwork seeks to solve two problems with one incredibly obvious solution. The Albizia Project on Oahu found that albizia lumber makes a great building material when properly dried and treated. We are not (yet) affiliated with The Albizia Project but we have contacted them and we are seeking partnership as their mission is an inspiration to us.
Kamaili Millwork offers ON-SITE milling of albizia, ironwood, mango, eucalyptus, and most any other local tree. We have boom-lifts, a capable crew, and a top-of-the-line portable Norwood Sawmill capable of milling tree trunks up to 38" in diameter into planks and beams. We can set up a drying area on site, or haul away lumber to be dried at our facility.
Our team is comprised of young, strong and capable native Hawaiians and conscientious settlers with experience in sustainable businesses and environmental initiatives. We are registered and insured and guarantee our work.
